James Culbertson

James brings 15 years of experience to his role as Senior Designer at Whitehall, where he is instrumental in establishing concept and vision and seeing it through to the end of the design development phase. He sees design and construction as a form of service and is driven by that mission to contribute thoughtfully to the built environment. No surprise that, despite being a young designer, he’s already had his work featured in places like AD magazine and nominated for prestigious awards. His past projects include the One 11 Hotel in New Orleans and the Arion hotel on a pristine stretch of the Aegean just south of Athens. He studied Fine Arts before going on to receive a Bachelor of Architecture at the University of Southern California and is currently an associate member of AIA Brooklyn. When not designing, he’s binge watching The Great British Bake Off with homemade chocolate chip cookies in the oven.
